Parent Notice

ข่าวสารถึงผู้ปกครอง

Dear parents, 

This year the parent conferences will be held a little differently than in the past. This year the parent conferences will be held via Google Meet on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 7th 2021. The children will attend school in the morning and then parents will come to pick them up after they finish their lunches at 12:20. Parent conferences are available to be held from 12:45-16:30. This will give the parents the time they need to get back home to attend any scheduled conferences. As part of this afternoon, we will require the learners to attend any parent conferences that their parents are signed up for. The children should also be sharing their Term 1 slides in their portfolios with their parents. In addition, we will also assign in Google Classroom some learning activities for the children to work on between conferences while they are at home on that afternoon.

ด้วยการประชุมผู้ปกครองในปีนี้จะจัดขึ้นต่างจากปีที่ผ่านมาเล็กน้อย โดยในปีนี้การประชุมจะจัดขึ้นผ่านทาง Google Meet ในช่วงบ่ายวันอังคารที่ 7 ธันวาคม 2564 เด็ก ๆ จะมาโรงเรียนตามปกติในช่วงเช้า หลังจากนั้นผู้ปกครองสามารถมารับพวกเขาได้หลังจากรับประทานอาหารกลางวันเสร็จสิ้นในเวลา 12:20 น. การประชุมผู้ปกครองจะจัดขึ้นตั้งแต่เวลา 12:45 -16:30 น. โดยวิธีนี้จะทำให้ผู้ปกครองมีเวลาที่ต้องเดินทางกลับบ้านเพื่อเข้าร่วมการประชุมตามกำหนดการ ในช่วงบ่ายวันดังกล่าว เราจะกำหนดให้ผู้เรียนเข้าร่วมการประชุมผู้ปกครองที่ท่านลงชื่อเข้าร่วม เด็ก ๆ ควรแบ่งปันการนำเสนอการเรียนรู้ของภาคเรียนที่ 1 จากแฟ้มสะสมผลงานกับผู้ปกครองด้วย นอกจากนี้เรายังจะมอบหมายกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้บางรายวิชาใน Google Classroom เพื่อให้เด็ก ๆ ได้ทำงานที่ได้รับมอบหมายระหว่างการประชุมในขณะที่พวกเขาอยู่ที่บ้านในบ่ายวันนั้น

Our class has decided that they would like to have a Secret Santa Gift Exchange during our class party on the afternoon of December 10th. Children should spend between 150-200 baht for this gift exchange. If any parents would like to provide any food or snacks for this class party it would be greatly appreciated. The school will also be providing some snacks for the children to enjoy during this party.  

ชั้นเรียนของเราตัดสินใจว่าเราต้องการแลกของขวัญแบบซีเครทซานต้าระหว่างงานเลี้ยงในชั้นเรียนในช่วงบ่ายของวันที่ 10 ธันวาคม ซึ่งเด็ก ๆ ควรซื้อของโดยมีมูลค่า 150 - 200 บาท สำหรับการแลกเปลี่ยนของขวัญนี้ หากผู้ปกครองท่านใดประสงค์จะนำอาหารหรือของว่างสำหรับงานเลี้ยงคริสมาสต์นี้ จะเป็นพระคุณอย่างสูง นอกจากนี้ ทางโรงเรียนจะจัดเตรียมของว่างให้เด็ก ๆ ได้เพลิดเพลินในงานปาร์ตี้นี้ด้วย

Language & Literature by Eliza & Rainer

วิชาภาษาและวรรณคดี โดย เอไลซ่าและเรนเนอร์

In Unit 2, we were learning about poetry and sonnets. The sonnets were set in the Elizabethan era and they used Shakespearean English. Sonnets must include 14 lines, 10 syllables in each line, a rhyming pattern, and three quatrains, followed by a two-line couplet. We created our own sonnets that are about the things happening in the Elizabethan period such as, gender inequality, poverty, sports, and Queen Elizabeth. Our whole class had debates on different topics and we were able to pretend we were in court.

ในหน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่ 2 เราศึกษาเกี่ยวกับบทกวีและโคลง โคลงเหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นในยุคเอลิซาเบธและใช้ภาษาอังกฤษแบบเชคสเปียร์ โคลงต้องประกอบด้วย: 14 บรรทัด โดยมี 10 พยางค์ในแต่ละบรรทัด มีคำคล้องจอง และแบ่งออกเป็นกวีสี่บรรทัดสามบท ตามด้วยโคลงสองบรรทัด เราสร้างโคลงของเราเองที่เกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นในยุคอลิซาเบธ เช่น ความไม่เท่าเทียมกันทางเพศ ความยากจน กีฬา และพระราชินีอลิซาเบธที่ 1 ตลอดการเรียนของเรามีการอภิปรายในหัวข้อต่าง ๆ และเรายังมีโอกาสได้จำลองสถานการณ์ว่าเราอยู่ในศาลอีกด้วย

Learner Profiles & ATL Skills Covered: This month in Language and Literature we have worked on our communication skills so that we could share our emotions and ideas through poetry.

วิชาบุคคลและสังคม โดย เจอร์รี่และหลิว

During I&S we have been learning about ethics/philosophy and thought experiments. Our first class was about an ethical dilemma and also a thought experiment, the first thought experiment we were doing was about the trolly problem. The trolly problem is about a problem with no good ending, there is one worker on one railroad and five workers on another rail, a train is coming towards them and you are in front of a lever that will turn the train, would you switch the lever to kill 1 person or do nothing and kill 5. We did this to see how we think. There were more thought experiments we did but it would be too long if I cover them.  

ในวิชาบุคคลและสังคมเราได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับจริยธรรม/ปรัชญาและการทดลองทางความคิด ชั้นเรียนแรกของเราเป็นการเรียนเกี่ยวกับปัญหาทางจริยธรรมและการทดลองทางความคิด การทดลองทางความคิดครั้งแรกที่เราทำคือปัญหาเรื่องรถราง ปัญหาเรื่องรถรางเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับปัญหาที่ไม่มีจุดจบที่ดี มีคนงานคนหนึ่งบนรถไฟสายหนึ่งและคนงานอีกห้าคนบนรางรถไฟอีกสายหนึ่ง รถไฟกำลังวิ่งเข้าหาพวกเขา และคุณอยู่หน้าคันโยกที่จะสลับทางวิ่งรถ หากคุณช่วยเปลี่ยนคันโยกจะฆ่า 1 ชีวิต หรือหากไม่ทำอะไรเลยจะฆ่า 5 ชีวิต เราทำสิ่งนี้เพื่อดูว่าเราคิดอย่างไร มีการทดลองทางความคิดมากกว่าที่เราทำ แต่มันมีข้อมูลมากเกินไปถ้าฉันจะครอบคลุมทั้งหมด

Mathematics by Daewa, Kevin & Pin 

วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ โดย เดว่า เควินและปิ่น 

This month in Maths Class we took part in an exciting activity. We participated in a Math’s Day Event, where we have to earn points and try to reach the leaderboards while doing different mathematical computations. People all around the world competed to be on the leaderboards of this event. As we competed the equations became more and more challenging. 

เดือนนี้ในชั้นเรียนวิชาคณิตศาสตร์ เราได้มีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมที่น่าตื่นเต้น เราเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมวันคณิตศาสตร์ ซึ่งเราต้องได้รับคะแนนและพยายามไปให้ถึงกระดานผู้นำในขณะที่ทำการคำนวณทางคณิตศาสตร์แบบต่าง ๆ ผู้คนทั่วโลกแข่งขันกันเพื่ออยู่บนกระดานผู้นำของงานนี้ ขณะที่เราแข่งขันกันสมการก็ท้าทายมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ

Learner Profiles & ATL Skills Covered: During our Maths competition we have worked on developing our quick thinking skills so that we could compete against each other and with people from around the world.

We started off with a debate to choose what subject we would prefer to study in this unit. The majority of learners wanted to learn more about animal communities and different ecosystems. As part of our unit on the ecosystem, we researched how wolves in Yellowstone

National Park helps to keep a balanced and sustainable food chain. Also, this month we celebrated Science Day with many fun experimental activities.

Learner Profiles & ATL Skills Covered: In Science class this month we have learned to be more reflective about how the wolf population can help keep the food chain sustainable for years to come.

In this unit, we have been creating a map of the school using our knowledge of how the school looks like. We have used the information we have learned from our I&S class to help guide us in our design class so that we could create a map with directions around the school campus.

Visual and Performing Arts by Ben & Amanda

In Visual Arts, we have been focusing on self-portraits and landscapes. The designs that we have created can be seen across the school campus in the corridor to celebrate our artistic creativity. We have also started our Art Process Journals to keep track of what we have learnt throughout this year and where our inspiration and creativity derives from.

ในวิชาทัศนศิลป์ เรามุ่งเน้นไปที่การถ่ายภาพตนเองและภูมิทัศน์ การออกแบบที่เราสร้างขึ้นสามารถเห็นได้ทั่วทั้งเขตพื้นที่ของโรงเรียน โดยโชว์ตามทางเดินเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองความคิดสร้างสรรค์ทางศิลปะของเรา นอกจากนี้เรายังได้เริ่ม Art Process Journals เพื่อติดตามสิ่งที่เราได้เรียนรู้ตลอดทั้งปีนี้และแหล่งที่มาของแรงบันดาลใจและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ของเรา

In Performing Arts class we are working on our drama performance. We have each been assigned to different roles to act out our scripts.
